OUR MUSIC & US

ABOUT THIS BLOG

This blog is going to be used by us, the students in IES Jaume Callís, to show our European partners our works.

We are going to work on different aspects of the world of music:

1.THE MUSIC WE LIKE: The first step is to talk about our musical preferences; each of us is an individual, different from the rest in one way or another. We are going to define themselves though the music we like.

2. THE CATALAN/SPANISH MUSIC SCENE: The second step is to work in pairs about different aspects of the musical scene both in Catalonia and Spain: famous singers/bands, concerts, top ten charts, music radio stations, tv channels and magazines. The aim is to give the world an accurate image of Catalonia/Spain, again through music.

Music is an international language; and so is English nowadays. Which English words related to music do we find in our language?

We will also describe the music scene in Catalonia and Spain.

Which singers/bands are the most popular? Are there any who sing in English?

Which popular events, festivals, concerts are there? Let’s review them.

Let’s work on the TOP TEN CHARTS: The official ones, our particular one, our parents’ and our grandparent’s.

Which are the main radio stations, music tv programmes and magazines in our country?

Just give our European partners a glimpse of our music, how we enjoy it; our singers, bands… Let’s show them our country through our music.

3. MUSIC AND THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE.  in this step, we are going to form international groups and work together students from the different countries. Of course, communication and collaboration will be online, using e-mails, chats and other internet resources. We are going to produce a workheet using a song to learn some aspects of the English language, and the other teams will have do and evaluate it.

More things are to come in the next months. The next section will be about cultural aspects of music, We will keep you informed!
